LEZ Approves Hug mobiclean R diesel particle filters

Hug Engineering AG receives Approval for London LEZ

Hug Engineering AG announced today that it has been approved as a manufacturer and supplier of emission control diesel particle filters for compliance with provisions of the London Low Emission Zone (LEZ).

All filter systems out of the product family “mobiclean R” (roundfilter) have been verified and approved by LEZ. They are on stock available with 4 different active and passive regeneration systems in different sizes. The filters substrate consists of silicon carbide and is able to reduce particles efficient and cost-effective up to 99.9%. Due to the catalytic coating, the self-clean regeneration of the mobiclean R advanced system already starts at 200 degrees Celsius.

As being one of the few single-source manufacturers, we own and control every step of the production process and we produce on stock.” said Rainer Mayer, Sales Director Serial Products. A long waiting time to get the right filter installed does not exist.

Since January 2012, London LEZ emission requirements have become more stringent. Any heavy commercial vehicle first registered before October 1st, 2006 needs to be installed with a DPF that reduces PM emissions below the Euro IV limit. If not, a daily charge has to be paid if using the LEZ.

Hug Engineering AG also announced a distributor agreement with UK-based LEZ Solutions Ltd. (sales@lezsolutions.co.uk), who will be the distributor of mobiclean R filters for the London Low Emission Zone. LEZ Solutions Ltd. will also provide installation and after sales support for mobiclean R filters.

This allows Hug to deploy its filters immediately to a vast variety of on-road diesel vehicles in and around London. First presentation of the mobiclean R DPF systems in the U.K. will be in April at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, Hall 2 Stand H19.
